If gynecomastia starts in adolescence, there is no need to worry; this is a perfectly normal condition that does not require intervention and the symptoms disappear once adolescence is over. Considering this situation, it is not appropriate to start treatment before the age of 16-18. If gynecomastia and obesity are experienced at the same time in an adolescent, liposuction can be applied to prevent the individual from being psychologically affected negatively.
There are many methods used in the treatment of gynecomastia, the method to be used varies according to the skin type, size and content of the breast tissue. In the gynecomastia in question, if there is no excess skin or fat tissue, the only treatment method is liposuction. With the help of half-centimeter incisions around the breast, the fat tissue is melted and taken out without leaving any stitches.
If the breast tissue is not soft, liposuction application is not enough for the treatment to be successful. In addition to the application, an incision can be added to the place where the dark colored area around the nipple meets the skin, depending on the doctor’s decision as a result of the examination. Thus, the risk of scarring is eliminated.
In case the person has excess skin, a solution is found for both gynecomastia and sagging skin tissue with the help of incisions to be applied under the nipple. The disadvantage of this application is that there are traces whose length changes in direct proportion to the amount of sagging. At the end of 6 months, these scars have a very faint appearance.
At the end of this operation performed under general anesthesia, it is possible to be discharged within 24 hours with the approval of the doctor. Normal work can be done in a few days, and heavy movements can be done after a few weeks.
A special gynecomastia corset should be used for 3 weeks to prevent fluid accumulation under the skin. This corset, which is very easy to use and does not interfere with your daily work, applies light pressure to your body. It does not show itself under your clothes.
