Surgery planning is done differently for breast augmentation and breast reduction. In breast augmentation, first of all, how much the breast will be enlarged should be planned. In breast reduction, how much we will reduce is determined in accordance with the wishes of the person and a planning is made by making drawings accordingly. By moving the nipple and its circumference to the ideal position, pre-planning of the breast shaping is made in the desired dimensions.

There are many types of breast aesthetics. Some of these methods may cause problems in terms of breastfeeding function. The methods we use and prefer are those that protect the breast canals and do not adversely affect the breastfeeding period. In breast augmentation, silicone implants are placed behind the breast tissue. In breast reduction, we maintain the connection between the nipple and the breast tissue. Thus, there is no mechanical obstacle for the milk produced in the mammary tissue to go out through the channels.

In breast aesthetics, the scars are finished in a way that will remain in the form of a line during the operation. It is usually pink in color at first, and within 1-2 months, these scars gradually fade and turn into an indistinct state. Since wound healing theoretically lasts 1-1.5 years, genetics and individual wound healing play a role in this regard. Earlier healing can be achieved by using some creams or gels for scars.

Although the time to return to work after breast aesthetics varies from person to person and pain threshold, the surgical method used also plays a role. Since breast lift and reduction procedures are surgical procedures related to breast tissue and skin, the person can feel better in a shorter time. Since there will be some tension and pressure in breast augmentation, the person may feel uncomfortable for the first few days.

Aspirin or other blood thinners should not be used before breast augmentation. Herbal teas and some vitamins can also have a bleeding-increasing effect. These should also be avoided. Drugs containing steroids that delay wound healing are also among the drugs that should not be used. We also need to stop taking drugs that may cause allergic reactions, anesthetic drugs, and drugs that have adverse effects.
